Enefit Volt’s public electric vehicle charging network expanded by 274 charging points in the first half of the year

Enefit opened 137 new Enefit Volt chargers across the Baltics and Poland in the first six months of this year, providing charging opportunities for a total of 274 electric vehicles. The most recent opening was in the city of Zabrze, Poland, representing Enefit Volt’s largest single charging network expansion in the country to date.

The 46 charging stations opened in and around Zabrze form a significant part of our network and are installed in 24 different locations. In total, there are charging points for 92 electric vehicles, which helps meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging in the area and enables convenient travel with Enefit Volt chargers even in more remote locations,’ said Kert Pääbo, Business Development Manager at Enefit Volt.

Charging infrastructure stretching from Estonia to the German border

In addition to Poland, network development is also underway in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. ‘In developing the charging infrastructure, our goal is to create a unified and cohesive network that provides assurance of charger availability for electric vehicle users across all our home markets,’ explained Pääbo.

In the first half of this year, we upgraded and expanded the public charging network:

  • In Estonia, 16 chargers were added and 12 old chargers were replaced with newer and faster ones
  • In Latvia, 18 chargers were added
  • In Lithuania, 53 chargers were added, including 4 ultra-rapid chargers with a capacity of 320 kW at Klaipeda Arena and Vilnius Outlet Park
  • In Poland, 66 chargers were added

Additionally, we upgraded the charging park at Ülemiste Centre, which now has:

  • 8 chargers with a capacity of 50 kW
  • 2 chargers with a capacity of 22 kW

With this addition, Ülemiste Centre has become the largest rapid charging point in Estonia. The centre can simultaneously charge up to 20 electric vehicles, and the charging capacity will continue to grow in line with market demand.

Enefit Volt’s network in the Baltics and Poland consists of 377 chargers, providing clean, 100% renewable energy for charging 754 electric vehicles simultaneously. We continue to develop the charging network, with 700 chargers currently in the planning stage.
