Enefit Opens 46 Public Charging Stations for Electric Cars in Poland
Enefit has opened 46 public charging stations for electric vehicles in the city of Zabrze and surrounding areas in Poland. This represents the largest single deployment of a charging network by Enefit Volt in Poland so far. Located at approximately 24 different sites in and near Zabrze, Enefit Volt chargers offer charging opportunities for a total of 92 electric cars.
This is the second large-scale opening of chargers in Poland this year. The chargers installed in Zabrze follow those in Bielsko-Biała and are in Silesia—a region expected to see significant growth in electric car adoption in the coming years.
“Silesia is a strategically important region for us. A report compiled with the Polish Association for New Mobility (PSNM) revealed that the number of registered electric vehicles in the region will grow to almost 47,000 over the next four years. To keep up with the growing demand, it is crucial to start developing the charging infrastructure as early as possible,” said Enefit Volt’s Business Manager, Kert Pääbo.
Enefit Volt charging stations in Zabrze are accessible to all electric and hybrid car owners. In the coming months, the company plans to open the next charging points in the city of Gliwice, Poland.
“When developing the charging infrastructure, our goal is to create a unified and cohesive charging network that provides assurance of charger availability to all electric car users in our home markets—both local residents and travellers passing through the region,” said Pääbo.
“This spring, we expanded beyond the Baltic States and opened our first chargers in Poland. Currently, our network comprises 350 charging stations, with an additional 700 in the investment phase,” he added.
Enefit Volt is Estonia’s largest electric car charging network and operates entirely on green electricity. Enefit is seeking location partners to invest in charging solutions on their commercial properties and jointly provide the best charging options for customers.
