How to start charging with the Enefit Volt Home app
Congratulations on your new electric car charger! We are glad to have you on board. The following instructions include step-by-step guidelines, in-depth explanations and useful tips to make sure that your first charging experience will be as simple and smooth as possible.
Activating and using the charger
-
Download the Enefit Volt Home mobile app
First, install the Enefit Volt Home app on your smart device. Use the link https://enefitvolt.com/app or enter the name of the app in the search bar of Google Play or App Store.
-
Create an account
After downloading the app, open it and create an account. You can create your account with an email address as well as an existing Google or Apple account.
It is also possible to link other login options with the account later on. For example, if you created an account using your email, you can link your existing Google or Apple account with it.
-
Connect the car to the app
The Enefit Volt Home app can be used to connect all the electric cars that are in the Enode list and marked with ‘Charge state’. For easier setup, connect the charger using the Enode website and give access to the Enefit Volt Home app to optimise charging.
If your electric car is not listed above, you will need to manually enter important vehicle information into the app. This includes battery capacity in kilowatt-hours (kWh). Make sure the data is correct, as the accuracy of the background calculations depends on it.
-
Connect the charger with the app
After installing your home charger, we'll send you an email with an activation code. To turn on smart control, enter the activation code in the app.
If you wish, you can add multiple chargers to one user account. The charger you would like to use can be selected from the app’s home page. All the connected chargers can be seen from the section ‘My chargers’.
-
Choose a suitable charging mode and start charging
Three different charging modes are available: smart, timed and instant charging. The charging mode that is currently in use is displayed on the app’s home page.
-
Smart charging allows you to optimise your charging session based on the best available Nord Pool exchange price. Once you have connected your car through the Enode platform and the charging status is visible in the app, you can schedule the charging session in two ways: by selecting the battery level you want to reach, or by selecting the time by which the charging must be completed. For example, you can set your car to be ready at 8am and have it 90% charged by then. The app will make the necessary calculations and manage the charger accordingly.
If you have entered the data manually, you can time the charge by selecting the percentage of power you want to add to the battery or the time by which the charge must be completed. For example, if you set it to 'Add 50% at 8 o'clock' and your car's battery was at 50% at the start, it will be at 100% at 8 o'clock.
- Timed charging allows you to set the start and end time of the charge. The charger charges as much as it can during these hours and does not take into account the exchange price.
- Instant charging is the fastest and easiest of the three options. Charging begins on activation and will reach 100% capacity as quickly as possible.
After choosing the suitable mode, make sure that the charging cable is securely connected to the vehicle and start the charging session in the app.
If you would like to use an RFID card to start charging, keep in mind that when starting the charging session, the charger will select the last active setting you have set in the app.

Monitoring of the charging
It is possible to monitor all the information related to the charging process from the app. Don’t worry if the charging starts right away when selecting smart charging. At the beginning of every charging session, the charger measures the charging speed for five minutes to calculate the best possible schedule for smart charging.
-
Ending the charging
The charger will stop charging if the criteria set beforehand, such as the charge level or end time, have been reached. If you have to end the charging earlier than planned, touch the charger with the RFID card or end the session from the app.
Troubleshooting and common questions
Sometimes it can happen that the charging will not go as planned. Fortunately, there is a solution for every situation. We have discussed and answered some of the most common questions that can arise when charging.
The charger only charging to a certain limit could be caused by the maximum charging limit set for the car. Check the settings of your electric car, remove all limits and set the desired charging parameters from the Enefit Volt app.
If a DLM device has been installed, the regulation of the charging speed is carried out automatically, on the basis of available power. In instances where the energy consumption of a building is high, the charging speed may be lower.
If there is enough available power for the charger but the problem persists, let us know at [email protected].
First, you should review the settings of timed and exchange price charging as well as the parameters that have been set from the app. For example, whether the time of day and desired charging percentage were sufficient. You should also make sure that the car does not have restrictions that could affect the charging.
Try restarting the charger. Restarting will disconnect the active circuit and help to restore the regular operation of the charger. If the charging won’t begin even after restarting, there is most likely a problem with the charging device.
